As of April 9, 2026, Mawqif is officially a member of the World Teenage Reporting Alliance, a global collective of organizations dedicated to enabling teenagers to produce real journalism and to better understand the role of media in a democratic society.

This development is a definite step forward toward expanding Mawqif's reach beyond the school to become a worldwide coalition of youth-led journalism. Mawqif was started in the Amman Baccalaureate School and created to provide an organized and trustworthy outlet where students can cover the news about real-life events, both local, international and those related to the interests the World Teenage Reporting Alliance means becoming associated with similar organizations operating in different countries whose goal is raising the level of journalism among teenagers.

The World Teenage Reporting Alliance works within the framework of the Global Youth & News Media organization. Its activities are aimed at improving editorial skills and creating a community based on the principles of cooperation, building a base of standards focusing on accuracy, impartiality and trustworthiness. Unlike being a separate newspaper or magazine, WTRA acts as a network uniting organizations working in the sphere of journalism and providing educational services.

This membership allows Mawqif to be a part of the world movement that seeks to improve teenager involvement in journalism by engaging in collaborative projects like World News Day 2026, organizing the discussion of the impact of journalism on the development of teenagers' media literacy, critical and civic thinking.

The affiliation to the World Teenage Reporting Alliance is also another point proving the importance of Mawqif as part of the UNESCO Media and Information Literacy Alliance and emphasizing its international nature in terms of the promotion of responsible journalism among teenagers.

In other words, this achievement demonstrates the development of journalism promoted by Mawqif from being only a news organization to the participation in the world movement that strives to promote journalism among teenagers as a means of better understanding of society. Nevertheless, its core mission and goals remain unchanged.
