Mawqif Sports Covers the 2026 ABS 8-Hour Marathon

On Friday, 16 October 2026, Mawqif Sports took part in the annual 8-Hour Marathon hosted by the Amman Baccalaureate School (ABS). The marathon is an exciting eight hours long event for students, families, staff, and teams.

Being the sports media subdivision of Mawqif, Mawqif Sports attempted to cover the most outstanding moments of the marathon showing the perseverance of participants and the excitement of the crowd.

On the Ground: Mawqif Sports' Media Coverage

Mawqif Sports covered the marathon taking photographs during the event.

Specific photograph zones were designated to the photo journalists allowing them to have an organised and coordinated coverage.

Mawqif Sports captured all the effort, engagement and excitement of the marathon from its beginning to the very end.

Celebrating Athletic Achievements

The event was characterised with the great effort and teamwork as the competitors strived to complete as many laps as possible in the eight hours.

Born Winner Seniors completed 265 laps, while Bank of Jordan (OBS) completed 256 laps.

Mawqif Sports' media coverage was intended to highlight these achievements and pay attention to all of the participants, volunteers and supporters of the marathon.

Motivating Student Photographers

Not only did Mawqif cover the marathon but it held an internal photographic competition encouraging its journalists to showcase their creative skills.

The journalists could send their photographs taken at the event along with title and caption describing their shots.

Thus, the student photographers could develop their skills in sport photography, visual journalism and journalistic work.

Mawqif's Contribution Recognition

The contribution of Mawqif into the marathon was recognised at the event and Mawqif received the acknowledgement of Her Royal Highness Princess Sumaya for their coverage of the event.

This is the milestone of the achievements of Mawqif Sports which is highlighted by the great dedication of their student journalists.

Looking Forward

The 8-Hour Marathon at the ABS on 16 October 2026 is yet another step of Mawqif Sports towards promoting student sports journalism.

The goal of this subdivision is to cover the events and competitions using photos and articles in order to document student achievements in sports and to encourage students' participation in the athletic life of ABS.

Having started developing the sports section, Mawqif continues striving to provide the audience with engaging, informative and professional sports coverage through the whole school year.
