Mawqif × ABS

Marathon Photography Competition

Friday, 16 October 2026 · Submissions 8:00 AM–5:00 PM · Assessment 5:00–8:00 PM

Photograph the ABS Marathon and send up to three pictures. The competition is open to all ABS students and parents. No professional experience is required. You have until 5:00 PM the same day to submit.

Who can enter

• Open to all ABS students and parents.
• Mawqif Media Team members may enter, but they are not eligible for prizes.
• No professional photography experience is required.

Entries

• Up to three photographs per participant.
• Photographs must be taken at the ABS Marathon on 16 October 2026.
• Phones and cameras are both welcome. Entries must be your own work.
• One submission per participant. No ABS school account is required.
• Entries close at 5:00 PM. Late submissions are not accepted.

Photo requirements

• Accepted formats: JPG, JPEG, PNG, and HEIC.
• Recommended longest side: at least 2000 pixels.
• Every photo needs a title and a caption of no more than 50 words.
• Keep the original, unedited file in case it needs to be checked.

Editing

You may crop, straighten, and adjust exposure, contrast, white balance, and colour. Black-and-white conversion is allowed.

Do not add or remove elements, retouch faces or bodies, make composites, or use heavy filters. AI generation and AI editing are not allowed. Do not add borders, text, logos, or watermarks.

Conduct and safety

• Do not enter the course, block runners, or obstruct staff. Follow event staff instructions.
• No drones.
• Respect requests not to be photographed.

Consent and respect

• Show everyone respectfully. Mocking or embarrassing images will be disqualified.
• Ask permission before taking close-up portraits.
• Mawqif checks finalist images against ABS media-consent records before any use.
• No images will be published publicly. Selected photographs stay internal.

How to enter

• Open the submission form from this page, the Mawqif booth QR code, the event poster, or @mawqifofficial.
• Enter your name, contact details, and category (student or parent).
• Upload up to three photos, each with a title and caption, accept the declarations, and submit.

Key dates

You have the day to photograph and submit. Do not wait until the last minute.

Judging

Entries are judged blind, with names removed. The panel is the Mawqif Head of Media, a Mawqif Director of Sports, and an ABS Visual Arts teacher. The Director of Mawqif breaks ties.

Each photograph is scored out of 100. Your highest-scoring photograph decides your ranking.

Awards

First, second, and third place go to the three highest-ranking eligible participants. Each person may receive only one award. Prize details will be announced separately.
